TO THE ECONOMIST

I have a very specially high regard for the Economist 

 

but in an article entitled "fight this war, not the last one", France is described as "admirably resolute" in standing its ground on Syria 

of course 

Syria is the latest occupational toy (after the law on gay marriage) thrown to the dazed French - as Hollande and his glib companions rip them off: every day a new "impôt" - now more or less benevolently disguised to spare our blurred intellects from inopportunely waking up

France "admirably resolute"??  admirably resolutely taxed, choked, deafened - submitted to the daily complacent bragging of the Hollande team - admirably, resolutely, systematically  lobotomized 

hence the I-Bravely-Challenge-The-World number about Syria

"if you juggle with a grenade long enough, it may go off"

Syria may - but in 16 months of juggling, France has fizzled out
