I heard this morning that young jihadists retuning to their home country should be welcomed with love and tenderness and given the opportunity live happily ever after (the couple of beheadings or misguided slaughtering they may have committed here and there in their past fading into something like sporting memories?)
most voices are more severe - nevertheless the benevolence of Europe towards anything related to Islam, wether peaceful or deviant, knows no limits
as a thunderously Islamist and very stern neighbour of Israel, Hamas is brilliantly qualified to command the respect of Europe, it has so many assets: its high minded treatment of the living, its photogenic handling of the dead, its genius for raining rockets from an otherwise sunny sky, its growing crowds of admirers (and copy cats) in the French suburbs
it's become traditional in Paris to celebrate the end of Ramadan while in some other French towns les crèches de Noël - nativity scenes - in public places have been banned, in order not to ruffle the sensitivity of the Muslim community (the pretext being an outcry for "laïcité" - how can one violate the holiness of secularism??)
being outraged at Israel is the sign of a generous and noble heart - it is a virtue which can freely manifest itself as nausea and hate: for there is a limit to what one can bear, faced with the abominations of Israel
there is even an intellectual elite among Israel haters - enlightened minds who love a Jew they can crush to pieces in a TV debate for not hating Israel
so
Netanyahu can ask the French president to wake up (from his 30 months nap) and do something to halt the UN initiative on a Palestinian state
and Netanyahu can demand from Europe that Hamas be reinstated as a terrorist organisation
